Herein I will record my genealogical findings about my family tree. This research has been fraught with uncertainties and dead ends, particularly in the case of the many John Turleys in my father’s line. There have been several conflicting lines of “John Turley” in Virginia during my search, and I have been particularly frustrated by the confusion between genealogical and historical records, which I will delve into at some point. There apparently was a quasi-famous John Turley who may or may not have been an ancestor of mine. Even if not, his story is quite interesting.
Prominent Ancestors
I considered doing a strictly chronological account, organized by century, but quickly realized this would become unwieldy with many disparate branches of my family tree competing for attention. This approach also would have scattered references to the families of central figures. Instead, I have decided to write the accounts of certain prominent ancestors and preface the titles of the entries with recorded birth dates to create a loose chronological order in the menu.
For security reasons, the entries will be password protected. My apologies to fans who are curious about my background.
